Mending/Binding Repair Policy

PURPOSE: To describe mending and binding services provided.
APPLICABILITY: To patrons for mending, to faculty and staff for mending and binding.

POLICY:

Technical Services & Systems will provide mending and binding services to university departments and repair services to both departments and individuals.

Academic and non-academic departments may request binding of non-library university books. University owned departmental books will be sent to the bindery. A $25.00 fee is assessed per item. Technical services will determine the quality of binding, color of binding, color and type of spine labeling in accordance with standards used for university library materials. Departments must supply an account number to be charged.

Academic and non-academic departments may request repair of non-library university books. This service is provided by Technical Services staff. A $12.00 per item fee will be assessed. Departments must supply an account number to be charged.

Individuals, both university connected and community may request repair of books. These repairs will be provided by Technical Service staff. These orders will be placed at a lower priority than library materials. A $25.00 per item fee will be assessed.
