Course Offerings for Fall 2024

The Library will be offering LIB 101: Introduction to Information Resources (1 credit), and AIS 535: Using Scholarly Library Resources in Support of Graduate Research (2 credits) in the fall of 2024.

LIB 101: Introduction to Information Resources (1 credit)

During this 7-week online class, students will learn how to successfully use library resources including the online catalog (OneSearch), databases, internet resources, and government documents. LIB 101 will help you use these resources for your own research, create a bibliography, and organize your materials. Recommended for freshmen and sophomores.


AIS 535: Using Scholarly Library Resources in Support of Graduate Research (2 credits)

Calling all graduate students, faculty, and seniors at NMU!

Are you interested in expanding or honing your knowledge about locating, critically selecting, managing, and properly citing scholarly sources?

How about being in a course that is focused on student centered learning, research needs, and program-specific scholarly writing rules of style compliance used in your own program?

Also interested in taking a course which meets entirely online async which you integrate with your other courses?
