2008 Public Services Goals


Circulation
eReserves
Examine workflows, policies, and procedures (Kathy G. and Mollie will be part of the group that Darlene has convened to study these issues). Look at demos of eReserves modules with the idea of making a proposal to purchase one.

MeLCat implementation
Be ready when we go live, study workflow and workload as we implement. Monitor delivery system.

Upgrade equipment (scanner) and software for ILL
Find out what products we want and how much they cost, present a proposal to the Dean, then the implementation.

Inventory
Continue working on the inventory of the collection.


Reference & Instruction
Reference Statistics
Collect information about what kind of questions we’re answering at the desk in order to see what we’re doing and how we want to categorize our reference desk stats. Review the results of the 2 week survey of reference questions in order to improve service and efficiency.

eReserves
Depending on the results of the eReserves group, participate in an education program about reserves and copyright, assist with policy promulgation.

Online Instruction
Develop instructional videos (screencasting) and explore the idea of being embedded in online courses more fully. Incorporate work on pedagogy and online instruction, track time spent in order to study workload for library instruction for online courses.
