Sources for Locating Journal Articles

OneSearch indexes millions of full text articles as well as books found in the Olson Library collection.

Locating Books

Olson Library Catalog
Use the library catalog to see what books the library owns on a topic. You cannot find magazine or journal articles in the library catalog (see databases above) but you can check if the library subscribes to a particular magazine or journal.

A statewide catalog of more than 300 Michigan libraries. Click the "Get this for me" link to request that items be sent to Olson Library for checkout. Average delivery time is 7-10 days and you will receive an email when the item arrives. The loan period for books is 3 weeks with the option to renew for an additional 3 weeks.

Borrowing Materials From Other Libraries

Interlibrary Loan allows you to obtain materials not owned by the Olson Library.  Materials such as books and periodical articles can be borrowed from other libraries.  The average time to receive requested materials is 7-10 days and you will be notified by email when your items arrive.  Consult the above link for further details and to submit a request.
